How Construction Companies in KSA Are Finally Gaining Control Over Their Projects
Good afternoon everyone. I usually just read discussions here, but this time I really need advice from people who understand the reality of construction business in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. I’m a project coordinator in a growing contracting company, and over the last three years we’ve doubled the number of active projects. Sounds great, right? In reality, it feels like we doubled the chaos instead. Our finance department works in separate accounting software, project managers calculate budgets in Excel, procurement keeps its own supplier records, and site engineers send updates through email and WhatsApp. When management asks for consolidated reporting, we spend days aligning numbers that somehow never match perfectly. It’s frustrating and honestly risky. We’re now looking into implementing a dedicated ERP for construction — not a universal ERP, but something designed specifically for construction companies operating in KSA. It’s important for us to manage subcontractors, track materials across sites, monitor project costs in real time, and comply with Saudi regulations. Has anyone in Riyadh already made this transition? Did it actually reduce operational confusion? Was staff resistant? I’d appreciate honest stories — even the difficult parts.
